More CSI mediaeval royals!
Of course Richard the Lionheart is the one portrayed as being a great king that the people loved (as opposed to the horrid King John).  Well that’s the way he’s always portrayed in Robin Hood films, etc.
In reality he was a bit of a bastard regarding England.  He was a French Plantagenet and only visited England three times and basically plundered the place to fund his crusades!
He sold Berwick to the Scots in 1189 for 10,000 marks (about £6,660).
